Per Request

Here is the giant post of the most recent adventures in pictures. I’m most excited today because we went to the Downtown Seattle Library today and took a tour. I got a library card, something I don’t think I’ve had since I was in middle school. It was a riot. It’s a beautiful place:

I’m pretty excited about spending some time there.

That’s Safeco inside, you can see we spared no expense on seats. The guys that were raking dropped them and did a hilarious dance. I got the pic of the big screen right when the Red Sox ad popped up, woohoo. The guys were old(!) and it was adorable. It was a pretty good crowd and the Mariners also beat the Royals, yay!

This is Alki Beach, west of the city, with a great view.

Here are two very different types of fish at the Pike’s Market Anniversary Celebration:

And last but not least, how about every state border we crossed:

Human Giant

When I’m not out exploring the city, I’m inside cursing Comcast cable and it’s strange organization of television channels. Oh, and having to wait until 11 to watch primetime TV sucks, too. One plus, however, is that I have MTV2. What on the earth do I want that for? Well, Aziz Ansari, Rob Huebel, and Paul Scheer have a new show called Human Giant that is seriously the best. sketch. comedy. ever. I couldn’t stop cracking up, and have found little skits on youtube and myspace and watched every episode I could. Aziz hosted two of the SXSW shows we were at and I couldn’t really hear all his jokes, but I’m looking forward to seeing him again at Sasquatch.

Moving made everything crazy. It’s so frustrating, when you don’t want to make excuses, but being in a car for a week made jogging a little impossible. There’s no excuse for the rest of the days I took off. It was hard to get back into the swing of things this week, it’s amazing to see how much momentum you lose by taking a little time off!

Final count on the Calendar of Progress:

  1. The letter W (for weights) appeared a total of 7 times.
  2. The letter C (for cardio) appeared a total of 14 times.
  3. The letter D (for drinking) appeared a total of 5-ish times.

Hopefully now I’ll be running out of doors, and drag MK along. This should be a good month. I keep threatening to try and get a trainer job at a gym just to keep getting in better shape.

Why I Blog

This is another meme, this time from snippy

I started my blog because she did. I saw hers and liked what I saw, what it was all about. Santi, too. I thought it’d be a fun hobby, a way to chronicle my book writing, and I even gave my mom the link, so it turned in to a way to let my family and friends know what I was up to. I have more readers and subscribers than I ever imagined, and really try to provide fun content. Not working gives me the time, and all the fun adventures I’ve had, New Zealand and SXSW and others, have made this little site a great spot for memories.

It has turned into something so much bigger, a platform to analyze my feelings, learn what others feel about issues, and a dashboard to all the other bloggers that I can see and learn from. It’s a whole new community for me that I’ve loved learning about.

I’ll just tag santi, iced mocha, and blindeh on this one!
