I came to the blog via the reference to the Beer Margarita and Absinthe at Jolly Boy. Love the whole thing! And you’ve got great reading material here.
So, here are the titles I”ve read. I know I want to read the Sedaris one or a his latest… but tell me which of the others you recommend and I will give you the power to influence — nay determine — my next read?
*David Guterson, Snow Falling on Cedars – AWESOME
*Khaled Hosseini, A Thousand Splendid Suns – In the middle of it right now.
*Dave Eggers, A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genuis – This reminded me of Catcher in the Rye
*Bernard Goldberg, 110 People Who Are Screwing Up America – read one of his other books after he left journalism but thought he was too bitter and ranty for me
Thanks…
I think the latest Sedaris one is a short story collection. I don’t typically read those, but I probably will just because I like the title. Ursula, Under and The Lake of Dead Languages, my two latest reads, are some of the best books I’ve EVER read if you’re up for a long one!
Thanks for stopping by, come back often!
